The bill / Before you commit

What might I pay?

Compare the total you would keep paying. The smallest number in an advert may describe only part of it.

Ask which kind of price it is

List price means the maker’s published price. Self-pay means a cash price outside insurance. A copay is the part paid by an insured patient.

For brand-name drugs used in weight or diabetes care, those figures were distinct in September 2026.

Start with the product and payment route, then ask for a written total.

A dated cash-price example

In September 2026, the maker’s cash price for semaglutide (Wegovy) injections was $349 per month for strengths from 0.25 to 2.4 mg.

Strength means the amount of medicine in the injection; mg means milligrams, the unit used to state that amount.

Ask which strength you have been prescribed and which price applies.

The higher-strength product, called Wegovy HD, was $399 per month in September 2026.

As of September 2026, new patients paying cash could get semaglutide (Wegovy) injections at 0.25 or 0.5 mg for $199 per month.

That introductory price applied to the first two monthly supplies; each supply was one box of four pens.

The offer’s stated end date was December 31, 2026; it did not set an ongoing price for every strength.

The amounts here cover the drug alone. They do not price a visit in Chicago or a complete care plan.

Put care fees beside the medicine

A sample of nationwide online services for weight care, checked in September 2026, found that monthly memberships were common; drug charges were usually separate.

These national services’ advertised fees do not tell you what a Chicago visit would cost.

Ask about the first visit, ongoing visits, any tests, the medicine and delivery. Have the service mark what is included and what is extra.

Check the offer’s end

December 31, 2026 was the scheduled expiry for many manufacturers’ cash deals and savings cards, according to the terms checked in September 2026.

When an offer expires, check the price again. The expiry tells you nothing about what the next price will be.

Ask about the bill after the offer, any commitment and how to cancel.
