Finding care / Chicago

Where can I start in Chicago?

Begin with a health concern, not a product list. Then ask who will assess it and how you can ask questions.

Ask about an in-person visit

A clinic visit lets you sit down with someone to talk through your goals. Ask whether someone will first check your health or offer a treatment chosen in advance.

Describe what has been troubling you: what has changed, what you hope to learn and what you have tried. You do not need to choose a peptide first.

Ask about licensed telehealth

Telehealth means a health visit from a distance, often by video.

Under Illinois rules in September 2026, the health professional treating you online needs state permission to practise.

An Illinois licence gives that permission; certain temporary state permits also allow this care under an agreement with an organisation that backs the clinician.

If they use a temporary permit, ask for its number and the organisation backing it. Check both with Illinois’s licence agency before choosing the service.

Ask how the clinician will learn about you and whether you can speak with them.

A med spa still involves medical care

A med spa combines a spa setting with medical services.

Illinois regulators’ guidance, checked in September 2026, treats weight-loss injections at med spas as medical procedures under physician care or delegation.

Delegation means a doctor gives a trained person a task under the doctor’s oversight.

Find out who supplies the medicine

People using an online service may be unaware of who prepared their custom medicine, according to the FDA, the U.S. drug agency.

Compounded means made to order. Get the pharmacy’s name, then use the Illinois licence tools.
